Basingstoke Consortium is an Education Business Partnership (EBP), running a wide range of projects that bring education and business together.
The Consortium works with schools and colleges across Basingstoke and Deane to help prepare students for adult life and the world of work through direct links with local businesses.
Working across all areas of the curriculum we develop business links that enhance teaching and put learning into context. These types of activities are called work related learning: learning through work, about work and for work. They are designed to increase the skills and abilities of the future work force and to develop the full potential of all young people.
By engaging with us, local businesses raise the profile of their sector, as well as raising the skills levels of the local community. The projects that businesses get involved in also help to motivate their own staff and support vital professional development. Skills such as team building, communication and problem solving are at the heart of many of the activities we deliver.
The Consortium is one of 130 Education Business Partnership organisations that work across England and Wales, and is a member of the Institute of Education Business Excellence (IEBE).
We manage a wide variety of projects in the Borough:
Basingstoke Consortium is a not for profit company limited by guarantee. Our funding comes through central and local government contracts, and all our funding goes towards providing high quality services for the community.
