CEO Appointment
Richard Dorney-Savage

I am delighted to announce the appointment of Richard Dorney-Savage to the role of Chief Executive Officer of The Basingstoke Consortium. Richard joins us from Oxfordshire County Council and will take up the role on 9th May 2016.


Richard’s background includes experience at CfBT Education Trust, Surrey Connexions and Wokingham Federation of Secondary Schools. Previously, Richard was responsible for Connexions careers provision in Oxfordshire and, more recently, he has been leading Early Intervention staff, working with young people aged five to twenty-five and their families and also focusing on Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET) provision. In addition, Richard has strengths in service planning and partnership working.

Richard is looking forward to meeting with all stakeholders soon after he takes up his appointment.

Recent Stories

STEM CPD

Eight teachers from local secondary schools took part in a twilight CPD session at Milestones Museum.  They worked in pairs to build a lego robot and programme it to move around a block and perform various tasks. 

"Great product and teaching, good step by step guide".  "I loved it. "Good fun & educational event. Would be improved by being a whole day".

3D Printing

Year 8/9 students from Everest took part in a 3D printing workshop where they created their own key tag using a variety of different software packages and then printed using a custom built 3D printer. Students really enjoyed the experience.

Speed networking

Female students from Aldworth, Bishop Challoner, Costello and Fort Hill take part in a speed networking session with local business women to hear about their career paths and to find out what it takes to be successful in business.

 

Step into Law

Phillips Solicitors hosted a "Step into Law" session for the first time.  Students from The Vyne, Everest and Bishop Challoner attended and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.  They were given an overview of Phillips, the legal sector and the career routes available, and then took part in a networking session with solicitors and trainees.  The students really valued being able to experience the legal sector "first hand".

 

Skills Day

Year 9 students from Dove House take part in a Skills Day and practise communication, team work and presentation skills.

Step into Industry

Costello students "step into industry" at De La Rue to find out about employability skills and workplace behaviours.
