Professional Development Placements (PDPs) offer teaching staff in local schools the opportunity to visit businesses and organisations, usually locally, and to gain an insight into different aspects of the local economy. 

The main objectives of a PDP are:

• To develop management knowledge and skills
• To link to curriculum development
• For continuing professional development of the individual
• To develop ICT skills
• To update specialist knowledge
• To establish stronger links with local businesses
