Why support us?

Today’s young people are your future workforce. With your help we can continue to inspire, inform and motivate young people at all levels in preparation for their future working lives.

Donate to local charities at Localgiving.com

Happening Now!

Donations are processed by PayPal and transferred into a dedicated client account for each charity or fund within the local Community Foundation’s account with HBOS.

  • If you claim Gift Aid, your donation is processed for an extra 25% through the government tax reclaim programme. Your donation, plus Gift Aid, minus the credit/debit card fee, is forwarded to the charitable organisation by the Community Foundation each week.
  • Gift Aid reclaims can take up to 6 weeks to be processed by HMRC. A 6% fee is only taken once the Gift Aid is received and the balance forwarded to the charity or fund.
  • If you do not claim Gift Aid, the 6% fee, plus the credit/debit card fees, are taken off the donation before it is sent to the charity or fund.
  • 95% of your donation goes directly to charity or fund.

Corporate sponsorship

Skillstree is an important initiative for Basingstoke and Deane and right now we need as many companies involved as possible - both large and small. To suit the size of your business we've created a choice of four ways in which you can participate - as the Platinum sponsor, or as a Gold, Silver or Bronze sponsor. We've kept costs down to a minimum. In fact sponsorship starts from just £1,000 per annum and opens the door for 20 young people to gain valuable experience of the world of work.

Click here to download the Skillstree brochure for full details or contact Sue Riley on (01256) 840710. Click here to see who the current Skillstree sponsors are.

Each year the Consortium places more than 1,600 young people on work experience. Last year, with the support of over 700 businesses, students gained experience in fields as diverse as engineering, sport and leisure, land based, IT and public services.

Employability

This is one of the Consortium's newest but most valuable programmes. It addresses some of the issues that local employers tell us are important when young people come to them for work.

Mentoring

Business mentors provide secondary school students with valuable external perspectives on their studies. Mentors support students for a range of reasons including subject revision, aspiration raising, getting back on track, developing communication and planning skills.

Hosting a visit

Giving students the opportunity to visit a business and find out about the organisation itself, the sector and career pathways is invaluable. The impact on students is huge.  It can sometimes shape their whole future.
